PIA Newsletter Vol. 1 No. 4
December 14, 2007
This has been an electrifying year for Plug In America because of you and others like you. PIA worked hard and with your help we built amazing momentum. Together we can keep that momentum going!
In 2007, PIA made dozens of appearances and provided important testimony at key events. Among them:
- U.S. Congressional hearing
- Meetings of the California Air Resources Board and its staff
- Industry gatherings such as the international Electric Vehicle Symposium (EVS 23) and the Alternative Car Expo
- Screenings of the film, "Who Killed the Electric Car?" for hundreds of organizations, interest groups and universities
- Protests and demonstrations with allies such as Rainforest Action Network
Our efforts have attracted attention and support:
- Clean air regulators now welcome our input and feedback
- The State of California awarded Plug In America a $130,000 grant to support college activities around plug-in hybrids
- Google.org, the philanthropic arm of the Internet giant, provided a one-year, $100,000 grant to build our organizational capacity to do even more
- The State of California awarded Plug In America a grant to support college activities around plug-in hybrids
You can make PIA even more powerful in 2008. Now is the time to make a tax-deductible donation and make it count toward your 2007 taxes.
Please understand that your generosity helps draw us all closer to the day when a plug-in car is no longer a rarity; a day when YOU will have the choice to drive one.
Please consider donating $1,000 or more so that we can list you as a Friend of PIA (support as a Friend online ) alongside these other Friends (see our Friends page).
Make a donation of any size at our PIA online donation page. If you'd prefer to donate by check, make it payable to Plug In America and mail to: P.O. Box 1174, El Segundo, CA 90245-6174
Plug into the future of cleaner transportation and help us inspire Americans to demand and then to drive vehicles that use cleaner, cheaper, domestic electricity.
Best wishes for the holidays and a happy New Year.
Linda Nicholes, President
Plug In America
